Balatro Seed Suite

Balatro Seed Suite

Find the seed. See what it holds. Play it the way that gets you there.

Five lovely mods for Balatro: a multithreaded seed finder, an in-run oracle that predicts shops, packs, tags and bosses, named save slots with previews, and a run journal. Every prediction is checked against the real game.

Free and open source · one zip, nothing to unzip · needs lovely 0.9+

The Seed Oracle open in a shop: this ante's skip tags, boss, voucher and Soul legendary, the shop on the shelf and after each reroll, and what each Arcana pack holds

Five mods, one zip

Seed Finder

Searches seeds for multi-clause filters on worker threads, ranks the hits, and gives you the route to each one.

Charm Tag+The Soul
Seed Oracle

Predicts the current seed ante by ante: tags, boss, voucher, the Soul's legendary, every shop, reroll and pack.

stableif…Ctrl+O
Save Slots

Named save slots with a card-level preview, folders, favorites, per-ante checkpoints and share codes.

CheckpointShare code
Run Journal

Records every run, with stats by deck, stake and joker, same-seed comparisons and export.

CSVJSON
bh-core

The shared library: game events, crash-safe storage and the seed simulator. Every other mod needs it.

included
The Seed Finder: a two-clause filter (Charm Tag on the Small Blind, the Soul in its Arcana pack) and a page of hits, each with Play, Route and Save as hunt

Ask for the run you want

Combine clauses: skip tags, the boss, vouchers, the Soul's legendary, shop jokers, a joker by ante N with a reroll budget, packs and editions. The Finder searches tens of thousands of seeds a second.

and or not

"Telescope or Blueprint by ante 3". "No The Hook by ante 2". From Black Stake, ask for a clean joker with no sticker.

Odds before you search

How rare a hit is, how long the search should take, and which clause is the bottleneck.

Today

One daily seed and deck for everyone, at White Stake. Play it blind with the Oracle locked, or routed.

Then it tells you how to get there

Hits are ranked by what they cost to deliver. Route lists the exact plays for one hit, and Play starts it as an unseeded run, so it counts for unlocks, stats and high scores.

  1. Blind Which blind to play and which to skip for its tag.
  2. Pack Which pack to buy and open.
  3. Soul Which card is the Soul, and when to use it.

Save as hunt keeps a hit in Save Slots, and the Run Journal tracks how each hunt went.

The route for one hit: which blind to play or skip, which pack to buy and open, which card is the Soul, and when to use it

Every shop before you walk in

Press Ctrl+O in a run, or open the Oracle from the pause menu. It shows each ante's skip tags, boss, voucher and Soul legendary, the shop on the shelf and after each reroll, and what every pack holds.

stable

Fixed by the seed. Only a reroll in the run changes it, and then it is flagged "changed".

if…

Shops, rerolls and pack contents hold as long as nothing else draws from the same stream first.

What if

Skip Small, skip Big, rerolls 0 to 5. The prediction is redone without touching your run.

Divergence

When the live shop stops matching, it says where, what it expected and the likely cause, then predicts again.

Keep the good runs

A save slot's preview: deck, stake, ante, money, hands and discards, the seed, and the jokers, consumables and vouchers it holds

Save Slots

  • A card-level preview of the jokers, consumables and vouchers each slot holds.
  • Folders, favorites, and search by name, seed, deck or notes.
  • An auto-checkpoint every ante, so you can rewind, and practice scenarios you compose.
  • Daily profile backups, the last 7 kept, restorable from the main menu.
  • Share codes: a slot's seed, deck, stake, notes and filter as one string.
The Run Journal overview: runs, wins, win rate, a per-joker lookup, and CSV/JSON export

Run Journal

  • Records every run on its own: antes, blinds, hands and scores, jokers and the outcome.
  • Stats by deck, stake and joker, with seeded, Finder, challenge and daily runs a toggle away.
  • Per-joker win rate, shops lasted, and how often you took it when a shop offered it.
  • Runs of one seed side by side, ante by ante, and where they diverged.
  • Blind-by-blind history in Run Info, and CSV or JSON export.

How does it know?

The simulator doesn't reimplement Balatro's rules from memory. It calls the game's own generation code in a sandbox that never touches your run, plus a Card-free twin of create_card that makes the same random draws in the same order.

A test rig runs the real Balatro code on LÖVE. Its golden suites play seeded runs and compare every prediction with what vanilla generated:

30antes
10Souls
60shops
120rerolls
120opened packs
1,500create_card draws

All of them match exactly, down to the RNG state afterwards.

Safe to install

Lovely only

Steamodded isn't needed, but the suite works alongside it.

Leaves achievements alone

Nothing touches achievements or unlocks. Finder runs start unseeded, so they count.

Offline

It never connects to anything. Slots and the journal stay in Balatro's save folder.

Fails safe

A missing or mismatched part switches itself off and the main menu says why. The game still starts.

Install

  1. 1 Install lovely

Get lovely 0.9 or newer and follow its instructions. Under Proton it also needs a launch option.

  2. 2 Download the zip

    BalatroSeedSuite.zip from the latest release.

  3. 3 Drop it in Mods

Put the zip into your Mods folder as it is. There's nothing to unzip.

  4. 4 Start the game

If Play now shows Saves and Find tabs, you're done.

Updating: replace the zip with the new one. Your saves and journal are kept. Antivirus software sometimes deletes lovely's DLL. If the game starts without mods, allow it and reinstall lovely.

Where is the Mods folder?

lovely creates Mods/ the first time the game starts with it.

Windows
%AppData%\Balatro\Mods
Linux
<Steam library>/steamapps/compatdata/2379780/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Balatro/Mods (Proton)
macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Balatro/Mods (untested)

Prefer a folder? Unzip it so that you get Mods/BalatroSeedSuite/lovely/. An extra level, like Mods/BalatroSeedSuite/BalatroSeedSuite/, won't load. Keep only one copy in Mods/.

Compatibility

Balatro
1.0.1o on Steam.
Loader
lovely 0.9 or newer, tested with 0.9.0. Steamodded is not needed.
Steamodded
Works alongside it, tested with 26.829.0, and its Mods menu lists the suite. Steamodded rolls editions and picks bosses its own way, so the Oracle leaves editions out and marks later bosses unverified, and the Finder skips boss clauses and edition requirements.
Content mods
Mods that add cards to the pools, such as Pokermon, switch the Oracle and Finder off, and they say why.
OS
The Windows build, tested under Proton on Linux. macOS is untested.

Questions

Nothing changed after installing.

Check that lovely is running: after one start with it, Mods/lovely/log/ exists. Then check that the zip sits directly in Mods/, or that the folder is Mods/BalatroSeedSuite/lovely/ with no extra level in between.

The main menu says part of the suite is disabled.

Two copies from different releases are installed, or one is incomplete. Keep a single BalatroSeedSuite.zip, or folder, in Mods/, from one release.

Do runs started from the Finder count for unlocks?

Yes. Play starts an unseeded run on the hit's seed, the way the Brainstorm mod's reroll does, so it counts for unlocks, stats and high scores. Daily seeds are seeded runs, so they don't.

Is the Oracle ever wrong?

stable items don't change unless something in the run rerolls them, and then they are flagged "changed". if… items assume nothing else draws from the same random stream first. Buying or using some cards does that, and the divergence banner tells you when it happens.

Why is my search slow?

Some filters are very rare. Odds tells you roughly how many seeds a hit takes and which clause is the bottleneck. Anything rarer than about 1 in 100 million takes a long time, so loosen the tightest clause first.

Where is my data, and how do I uninstall?

Save slots and the journal live in Balatro's save folder, under your profile (<profile>/saveslots/, <profile>/runjournal/). To uninstall, delete BalatroSeedSuite.zip, or the folder, from Mods/. Your data stays.

Is it official?

No. Balatro is by LocalThunk and published by Playstack, and this project is not affiliated with or endorsed by either. The repository contains no game code or assets.
